Himalayan Journey in Himachal Pradesh
MANALI, India: Yoga teachers, instructors and practitioners from more than 15 countries have completed a 10-day ‘Himalayan Journey’ aimed at providing international participants with an immersive experience of India’s ancient yoga, spiritual and wellness traditions.
Led by Himalayan Siddha Akshar, the programme brought together participants from the United States, United Kingdom, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, China and other countries. The journey combined yoga and meditation with exposure to the Himalayan landscape, Indian spiritual traditions and traditional health practices.

Participants travelled to several prominent destinations in Himachal Pradesh, including Chandratal, Kullu-Manali, Vashisht and Jogini Waterfall. Yoga, pranayama, meditation and wellness practices were conducted in natural surroundings, while sessions on Himalayan philosophy and Indian spiritual traditions encouraged reflection and cultural exchange.
Silence, concentration and self-reflection were also incorporated into the programme, giving participants an opportunity to experience spiritual practices beyond conventional classroom settings.

According to the organisers, the initiative was designed to take Himachal Pradesh’s yoga and spiritual heritage to practitioners around the world while highlighting the state as an important centre of Himalayan knowledge and traditional wellness practices. International participants described the region’s peaceful environment and ancient spiritual traditions as a distinctive and enriching experience.
Himalayan Siddha Akshar said Himachal Pradesh has a deep connection with the ancient knowledge systems and spiritual traditions of the Himalayas. His spiritual lineage is associated with the Siddha tradition of Siddha Baba Balak Nath Ji, linked to the Hamirpur-Bilaspur region and the spiritual heritage of Deotsidh.
Alongside the international programme, the Akshar Yoga Centre conducted free yoga, health and wellness sessions in schools and communities across Himachal Pradesh. Students were introduced to practices focused on physical fitness, concentration, emotional balance, discipline and healthy living.
The centre is also working towards establishing institutions in the Kullu, Manali and Mandi regions dedicated to yoga education, teacher training, meditation, mental well-being, traditional knowledge research, youth development and international cultural exchange.
The organisers said the conclusion of the Himalayan Journey marked another step towards promoting Himachal Pradesh as a destination for global yoga, wellness and cultural learning.
