Bhopal, January 6: In Bhopal today, the mercury plummeted to 3.8°C in the early morning hours. This marks the lowest temperature of the current season. Meanwhile, the lowest temperature in Madhya Pradesh today was recorded in Rajgarh at 2°C. Additionally, minimum temperatures stood at 4.2°C in Rewa, 4.4°C in Khajuraho, and 4.6°C in Umaria.
Madhya Pradesh is currently experiencing a severe cold spell. According to data released by the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature remained below 10°C in 33 districts, including Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Ujjain, and Sagar.
Along with the biting cold, dense fog has significantly disrupted daily life across the state. Today, on January 6, visibility in Gwalior was near zero, while in Bhopal, dense fog made it difficult to see even up to 100 meters. The Meteorological Department has predicted that over the next 24 hours, most parts of Madhya Pradesh will continue to experience cold wave conditions along with dense to moderate fog.
