Kautilya Bhawan and Launches Drone Services at AIIMS Bhopal

Bhopal. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the 'Kautilya Bhawan' at AIIMS Bhopal and launched the institute's new drone service facility on Tuesday, 29 October 2024, marking the 9th National Ayurveda Day. Joining the event online were Union Ministers Shri J.P. Nadda, Shri Mansukh Mandaviya, and Union Ministers of State Shri Pratap Rao Jadhav, Ms. Anupriya Patel, Ms. Shobha Karandlaje and Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Dr Mohan Yadav. At AIIMS Bhopal, the occasion was attended by Madhya Pradesh’s Minister of State (Independent Charge) Smt. Krishna Gaur and Bhopal MP Shri Alok Sharma.

In his address, Prime Minister Modi highlighted India’s ancient heritage in Ayurveda, which is gaining recognition worldwide, noting that this year, Ayurveda Day is being celebrated across more than 150 countries. "New India, by reviving its grand old traditions and integrating them with modern healthcare, is contributing to global health,” he stated. Over the past decade, strides have been made to synergize Ayurveda with modern medicine, creating a new chapter in India's healthcare evolution.

The Prime Minister also announced the expansion of the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Yojana, under which over 4 crore individuals have already benefited. On this special occasion, the scheme will extend to senior citizens aged 70 and above, who will now receive the Ayushman Vaya Vandana Card, further strengthening healthcare support for elderly citizens.

     

Ms. Krishna Gaur, State Minister of MP, expressed optimism about the impact of Kautilya Bhawan on healthcare delivery. "This new facility will significantly improve health services, benefiting not only AIIMS Bhopal students but also patients across Madhya Pradesh. We pledge to work with unwavering dedication toward advancing healthcare,” she remarked.

Shri Alok Sharma, MP, Bhopal, commended the dual accomplishments of the new administrative building and drone services. “Kautilya Bhawan will enhance our administrative efficiency, and the launch of drone services, reaching areas like Gouharganj in Raisen District, will enable rapid delivery of essential medicines and blood to remote areas, revolutionizing rural healthcare,” he said.

Dr. Sunil Malik, President of AIIMS Bhopal, acknowledged the substantial progress made over the past decade, noting that the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Yojana stands as the largest health security scheme globally, offering essential coverage to millions of Indian citizens.

Prof. (Dr.) Ajai Singh, Executive Director of AIIMS Bhopal, lauded the inauguration of Kautilya Bhawan and the pioneering launch of drone services as pivotal steps for the institute. “With Kautilya Bhawan enhancing our infrastructure and the drone services expanding our reach, AIIMS Bhopal is poised to deliver comprehensive healthcare to even the remotest regions."Kautilya Bhavan" is a modern six-story building (Ground + 5) covering an area of 11,900 square meters, with a project cost of ₹64.44 crores. These milestones reflect our unwavering commitment to healthcare excellence and innovation,” he stated.

The inauguration of Kautilya Bhawan and the deployment of drone services symbolize AIIMS Bhopal’s relentless pursuit to elevate healthcare standards, inspired by the vision of a healthier and more accessible India.
