New Delhi, April 12, : Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a Navratna Public Sector Undertaking underMinistry of Railways, celebrated its 21st Annual Day on 10th April 2026 at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi, marking another significant milestone in its journey of transforming India’s infrastructure landscape.Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon’ble Minister of Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & Information Technology,Shri Ravneet Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways & Food Processing Industries, and Shri V. Somanna, Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways & Jal Shakti, extended their heartfelt congratulations on the celebration of RVNL’s 21st Annual Day and conveyed their best wishes to the entire RVNL team for its commendable performance and continued contribution towards strengthening the nation’s infrastructure.

The celebration was graced by Shri Satish Kumar, Chairman & CEO, Railway Board, Ministry of Railways,Shri Vivek Kumar Gupta, Member (Infrastructure), Railway Board,Shri R. Rajagopal, Member (Traction & Rolling Stock) Railway Board, and Ms. Manjusha Jain, Member (Finance), Railway Board whose presence added further significance to the occasion. The event also featured a special address by Shri Saleem Ahmad, CMD, RVNL; a welcome address by Shri M.P. Singh, Director (Operations), and a vote of thanks by Smt. Anupam Ban, Director (Personnel), highlighting RVNL’s achievements, team excellence, and vision for continued growth. Other senior officials, Shri Amit Tandon, Director (Projects); Shri Abhishek Kumar, Director (Finance), and Shri Mukesh Kumar, Chief Vigilance Officer along with distinguished guests, and retired officers of RVNL were also present on the occasion.

In his address, the Chairman & CEO, Railway Board,Shri Satish Kumar, commended RVNL’s exceptional commitment and execution capability, noting that the organisation has consistently delivered projects that once appeared impossible. Drawing from his experience of closely monitoring critical infrastructure targets, he highlighted RVNL’s ability to convert challenging timelines into successful outcomes, reinforcing the confidence that Indian Railways places in the organisation. He described RVNL’s journey since 2003 as a matter of pride for the entire railway ecosystem and observed that, in just two decades, it has emerged as a cornerstone of India’s rail and other infrastructure sectors.

Shri Satish Kumar further noted that RVNL has delivered over 17,000 kilometres of railway infrastructure, with cumulative project execution exceeding ₹2 lakh crore, significantly strengthening connectivity and capacity expansion across the country. He particularly praised landmark projects such as the New Pamban Bridge, describing it as a remarkable engineering marvel and India’s first vertical-lift railway sea bridge, inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister. He also referred to RVNL’s pioneering SPV and PPP-led execution model, successful metro developments including the Kolkata Metro connectivity stretch, its expanding global footprint across Maldives, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, and Rwanda, and major engineering works in the Himalayan region, including the Rishikesh–Karna Prayag Rail Link and extensive twin-tube tunnelling works.
He further highlighted RVNL’s strategic expansion into sustainability-led and technology-driven infrastructure, including green construction practices, 3D printing, renewable energy projects, the Vande Bharat Sleeper train programme, and its entry into digital infrastructure through the Bharat Net contract. Appreciating the organisation’s strong systems, governance, and consistent excellence, heemphasisedon continued focus on faster execution, adoption of new technologies, and the highest standards of safety and quality. He concluded by congratulating the entire RVNL family and expressing confidence that the organisation will continue to scale new heights.
The Member (Infrastructure), Railway Board Shri Vivek Kumar Guptain his remarks, reflected on RVNL’s growth journey since its inception in 2002, describing it as an organisation that has evolved from a modest beginning into a diversified and benchmark-setting institution within the Indian Railways ecosystem. He noted that RVNL has consistently introduced new initiatives and expanded beyond railway engineering into multiple infrastructure domains.
He emphasised the high expectations from RVNL as it continues to grow and diversify, particularly in delivering large and complex projects with quality and timely execution. Referring to landmark achievements such as the Pamban Bridge and the ongoing Rishikesh–Karna Prayag project, he described the tunnelling work in the challenging Himalayan terrain as an engineering marvel in the making. He assured continued support from the Railway Board and expressed confidence that RVNL will continue to bring pride to the nation through engineering excellence and successful project delivery.
Shri Saleem Ahmad, CMD, RVNL, in his address reflected on the organisation’s remarkable journey of vision, execution, and transformation over the past two decades. He noted that since its inception under the National Rail Vikas Yojana, RVNL has evolved into a key driver of India’s infrastructure growth and today stands as a strong and credible Navratna PSU. He described RVNL’s role as a central pillar in India’s capital expenditure push. He also underlined the company’s strong financial performance, marked by consistent growth in turnover and sustained profitability.
He further highlighted major milestones achieved over the past year, describing it as a period that showcased RVNL’s engineering and execution excellence. He referred to the New Pamban Bridge as a symbol of innovation and technical strength. He also pointed to RVNL’s expanding presence in urban mobility through projects such as the Indore and Kolkata Metro, and progress on the Rishikesh–Karna Prayag Rail Link, where tunnelling works have achieved significant milestones. In addition, he noted diversification into new sectors including Bharat Net, the Vande Bharat sleeper trainset programme, renewable energy, and international markets, reflecting its transition into an integrated infrastructure company with global ambitions.

Looking ahead, Shri Saleem Ahmad, emphasised that expectations from infrastructure organisations are evolving, with increasing focus on speed, scale, sustainability, and smart execution. He highlighted that RVNL is leveraging AI and digital tools for enhanced project monitoring, expanding its global footprint, and embedding sustainability into its operations. He also underscored the company’s commitment to inclusive growth through CSR initiatives and acknowledged the continued support of the Ministry of Railways and the Railway Board. He concluded by congratulating officers, staff, and PIUs for their achievements and reaffirmed RVNL’s commitment to strengthening connectivity and supporting the vision of Viksit Bharat ofHon’ble Prime Minister.
A major highlight of the Annual Day celebrations was the awards and recognition ceremony, which honoured outstanding contributions from PIUs, project teams, and corporate officeacross the organisation. This year, RVNL conferred 5 prestigious shield and cash awards, 14 group awards, and 24 individual awards, recognising excellence across rail, metro, tunnelling, overseas, and strategic infrastructure projects, as well as key functions such as finance, HR, investor relations, ESG, design, and business development. The ceremony underscored RVNL’s strong execution culture at the ground level and celebrated the dedication, innovation, and teamwork driving milestone project delivery across the country and beyond.
Over the past year, RVNL has achieved several significant milestones through the successful completion of key infrastructure projects. Among the most notable was the construction of the new Pamban Bridge, which was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India last year, marking a major engineering achievement and an important addition to the country’s transport infrastructure.
At the same time, the company has continued to make strong progress across several strategic projects, including major railway doubling and third-line works, metro corridors, tunnelling projects in the Himalayan region, electrification initiatives, and critical road infrastructure developments. Significant progress has also been recorded in high-value projects such as the Rishikesh–Karna Prayag rail link, metro developments in Kolkata, Indore, and Chennai, along with the execution of select international projects.
As RVNL steps into its next phase of growth, the company remains focused on accelerating infrastructure delivery, strengthening project execution, and supporting India’s long-term transport and logistics vision.
The evening was further enriched by a special musical performance by renowned Indian playback singer and live performer Monali Thakur, making the celebration memorable for all attendees.
