Hindu College Inaugurated S. N. P. Punj

Memorial Knowledge Centre for E-Learning

New Delhi, January 27.  Hindu College inaugurated the S. N. P. Punj Memorial Knowledge Centre for E-Learning, a cutting-edge facility dedicated to advancing digital education and fostering academic excellence.

 The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of Padma Bhushan awardee and Chairman of the 16th Finance Commission of India, Prof. Arvind Panagariya, as the Chief Guest. Prof. Panagariya commended Hindu College’s exceptional infrastructure and its standing as one of the premier institutions in the country. He applauded the administration, faculty, and students for their unwavering dedication to academic pursuits. Emphasizing the importance of initiatives like the Knowledge Centre, he shared his vision of a "Vikasit Bharat" and urged students to contribute meaningfully to the nation’s growth and progress.

 

Prof. Anju Srivastava, Principal of Hindu College, highlighted the profound significance of this center as a tribute to the late Shri S. N. P. Punj, a visionary former chairman of the college. She expressed heartfelt gratitude to his illustrious sons, Atul Punj and Uday Punj, for their generous support in establishing this remarkable facility. Prof. Srivastava also underscored the alignment of the Knowledge Centre with the National Education Policy’s emphasis on integrating information technology into education. The 10,000-square-foot Knowledge E-Learning Centre is equipped with nearly 100 state-of-the-art, all-in-one computers, offering Wi-Fi connectivity and access to numerous high-quality electronic databases through the Campus Network and UGC UGC-INFONET Digital Library Consortium. The college has also subscribed to the One Nation One Subscription scheme, ensuring students and faculty gain access to a vast array of research articles and video lectures. She further said that the center features thoughtfully designed spaces for group projects, discussions, and individual study, providing a harmonious blend of collaboration and focused learning.
