NEW DELHI: The Hindu College Old Students Association (OSA) hosted its 17th Annual Golf Tournament, a much-anticipated event that brought together a dynamic mix of distinguished alumni and celebrated the enduring spirit of camaraderie and nostalgia. Held at the Qutab Golf Course in New Delhi, the tournament attracted over 120 alumni golfers from diverse professions and generations, creating a lively atmosphere filled with cherished memories and renewed connections.
Ravi Burman, President of the OSA, highlighted the tournament’s growing appeal, emphasizing its significance in fostering lasting bonds among alumni. ‘The Annual Hindu Golf Tournament continues to strengthen the ties between alumni, creating a cherished tradition of celebrating shared heritage, accomplishments, and friendships. It is heartening to see young golfers joining us, making this event not just a celebration of skill but a reminder of the lifelong relationships built at Hindu College,’ he remarked.
The event was further elevated by the participation of several eminent personalities. Among the distinguished attendees were Justice Ravindra Bhat, former Supreme Court Judge; Justice Manmohan, Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court; Justices Jasmeet Singh and Manoj Ohri of the Delhi High Court; Lt Gen Arun Kumar Sahni, former General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Indian Army; Atul Chaturvedi, Member NCLT ; Rohit Relhan, Chairman of Relan Group; former Indian cricketers Murali Kartik and Saba Karim; Dhruv Shringi, Founder and CEO of Yatra.com; and K K Sharma, former DG BSF. Their presence underscored the event’s reputation as a premier platform for celebrating both golfing prowess and the enduring legacy of Hindu College.
The tournament concluded with a memorable awards ceremony, graced by Chief Guest Rao Inderjit Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Statistics and Programme Implementation, Planning, and Culture. Singh presented awards in various categories, celebrating outstanding performances. Vikram Bahri took Closest to the Pin, Giriraj Meena emerged as Winner Invitee, Elvin Khurana secured Runner-Up Ladies, and Suneeta Trivedi was named Winner Ladies. The main notable winners included Justice Jasmeet Singh (Winner, 9-Holes), Rishi Sahai(Winner Handicap 17-24), Azad Sandhu (Winner Handicap 1-8), and Mahindra Kumar Mohanty (Winner Handicap 9-16).
This year’s tournament was a resounding success, reaffirming its status as a cherished tradition that celebrates both athletic excellence and the unbreakable bonds of the Hindu College alumni community.
