Malayalam's "Aattam" wins Best Feature Film Award

"Kishore Kumar: The Ultimate Biography" Best Book on Cinema

New Delhi. The 70th National Film Awards for the year 2022 have been announced. In the Feature Film category, the Malayalam language feature film "Aattam" (Drama) has been declared the best film. This film is directed by Anand Ekarshi. While in the non-feature film category, the title of best film has been received by 'Aaina' (Mirror) directed by Siddhant Sarin. The award for the best book written on cinema was given to "Kishore Kumar: The Ultimate Biography" written by Aniruddha Bhattacharjee and Parthiv Dhar. Hindi language film critic Mr. Deepak Dua has been selected as the best critic. Kannada language film "Kantara" was selected as the complete entertainer. Rishab Shetty who starred in Kantara won the Best Actor award and Nithya Menen won the Best Actress award for her work in "Thiruchitrambalam". The Jury has selected the best films language wise from films made in various Indian languages. The Best Film award will be given to Gulmohar, a Hindi feature film. Produced by Star India Pvt. Ltd., the film is directed by Rahul V. Chittella.

The Jury for the 70th National Film Awards comprised eminent filmmakers and film personalities from the world of Indian cinema. The awards were announced by Shri Rahul Rawail, Chairman, Feature Film Jury, Dr. Neel Madhab Panda, Chairman, Non-Feature Film Jury and Shri Gangadhar Mudliar, Best Writing on Cinema Jury in the presence of Ms. Vrinda Desai, Joint Secretary (Films), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
